Since Mrs Rupert is catching up with my time for the Marin I went and did a bit of a half hearted wave this afternoon. With 50 roadie miles in my legs from yesterday, I was all over the place on the first climb and was messing up on really easy stuff. Took until I got round to the dragons back to really feel like I was motoring, but then was scuppered slightly by having to stop and put some air in my back tyre. I think a piece of slate must have gone through it on the rocky stuff and the tubeless did its job, but not before a fair bit of air had gone. Anyway, enough waffling, I was quite pleased with a 1 hour 45 dead, not counting the stop for the tyre.
Not sure what happened to Motoxman, I saw him at the start and he was about to attempt his first wave and must have left just after me, but had already gone by the time I got back. Hope you're OK Gareth?
Just missed Mark and Simon as well, riding up the first climb just as I pulled into the car park somewhat later than advertised.

Did you not see me fly past you Seriously though lost use of gears just before Hafna car park so bailed there and headed to 69 Cycles before they closed who sorted me out. A long way to go for a 30 minute ride

Well it's fair to say that Pete (Thistle) gave me a beasting round the CyB Beast today. I'll put this up as a wave time for me. Pete did it in exactly the same time, but had to keep stopping for me to catch up, so probably isn't a fair time for him. It's not that often that I feel like I'm holding up the pace of a ride, but I certainly was today. You need to get some waves of your own in Pete This is for the full Beast including the bit that everybody normally cuts out on the steep hill after the half way cafe. 2:49:34 overall, taking account of about 10 minutes worth unforced stops 2:39:49 moving Here is the Strava link. app.strava.com/rides/6718677#125521310Somehow I managed to gain 8 seconds on Pete and knock him from 5th place on the Strava segment for the whole Beast, but this wasn't really fair as I think he had to get his phone out of his bag at the end to stop the clock . Anyway, quite chuffed with joint 5th place P.S. I think the admins need to update the Wave page on the front of the site

Off the back of a pretty good result for me on the Dyfi, nobody kept a close eye on me at work and hence I escaped for the week and I needed one stiff ride before the 104 mile tour of pembrokeshire this weekend I thought id have a go at breaking that elusive 1,40 around the Marin. and the result was 1.36:46 (been a good week on the bike ;D) connect.garmin.com/activity/176414322app.strava.com/activities/8178967

Today looked as good as any for a Marin wave, with my first time out using Strava rather than Endomondo.
Not as fast as I hoped for, but a personal best nonetheless at 1:48:52 which puts me 12/95 on the Strava 'MBNW Marin willy wave.'
From looking at the stats, if I go an average of 1mph faster then I'll match Phil's time of 1:36!

Could have done, just a fair bit slower. You guys looked pretty fresh considering you'd been out 4 hours or so longer than me!
