A 69 mile, closed road event, starting from Oulton Park. I've entered under the charity sponsor section for free, and pledged to raise £250+ for Marie Curie Cancer Research. This option is only available for the first 400 riders, with a field of 3500 riders expected! Anyone interested in joining me? www.etapemercia.co.uk/index.html

Well that's done! 4:09:43, 228th out of 864 starters. According to my Strava I averaged 27.7km/hr. I was hoping to finish in the top third but was actually only ten places from the top quarter, so fairly happy with that. I missed the first feed station out, but had to stop at the next two for peepee stops, dropping almost 7 minutes and 56 places. It was a bit of a revelation as this was a closed road event and could be a bit nerve wracking at full chat on some of the downhill sections cutting tight into the apexes of right handers. I must remember not to do that on Tour de Mon!
