Went out for a ride this morning. Had heard about the old lignite cordite factory at Wrexham so thought I'd go and have a nosey. Here's some of the pics. This was on the way: This was also on the way: Possibly a lookout tower as it was near the entrance: Pew pew There were loads of these pits with railway tracks running in one side and out the other. Down by the River Clywedog: A big building I found at the end: There were kids in there using the place as a MX track with tape between trees like there someone's been having half organised races around there. I think there's loads more buildings around, but it wasn't the sort of place I wanted to get lost in. There's another 2 entrances which I'll probably have a nosey around another weekend. Finally, who says scallies don't have a sense of humour? I think someone should point out the spelling mistake to him ;D

I think that it's the place that Llangollen Motorcycle Club used to run Hare & Hounds events some years ago.

I think that it's the place that Llangollen Motorcycle Club used to run Hare & Hounds events some years ago. Could be. The motorbike tracks were pretty well worn and well defined. Racing through tunnels and going through canopies that used to be the entrance to buildings sounds awesome. I'm surprised the site hasn't been bought and turned into a bike place or a paintball place. I don't think the buildings are listed or protected in any way, and about 75% of the site has been flattened and built on.

all i can remember there was loads of hidden curbs there everywhere. Yeah the actual concrete road through the site is about 1.5m wide with kerbs on the side. In the tunnels it is concrete slab with kerbs on the sides, about the same width but seems to have a drainage channel in the middle. Makes it more interesting I guess. Like gates and barriers across the bottom of MTB trails
