I have just noticed that Picasaweb is using https for it's image links and proboards doesn't appear to like it. When you post an image using the image link from picasa proboards just displays blank. To get the images to display just remove the s from https.
Not sure if it's a proboards change or picasa change.

I'm guessing it's down to the fact the 's' means secure and thus you'll need to log in. If your pasting https links them the person viewing needs to log in... Removing the 's' simply means it's insecure and anyone can view.
From what I noticed at the start of this month it's a google change as I used to be able to easily publish documents on the web using the 'publish' button, but these days I need to edit the URL.

When I made my fancy avatar all that time ago ;D, Proboards wouldn't accept a .php file as an picture so it seems to do some checking on the URLs you submit.

aah that explains it - I just gave up with Picasa and went to photobucket like everyone else seems to as I couldn't get it to work any more

By the way, have any of you photobucketers got a way of speeding up the upload? It seems to take absolutely forever, like half an hour to upload 5 photos. It's not my broadband speed, an Picasa was fine before, but the photos from Photobucket do seem to appear larger size on the forum, so I'd prefer to stick to it if I can.

batch convert them in Irfan View so they are a bit smaller (in dimensions and reduce the quality a bit). The pic of my knee was 5MB on the camera - 52kB at the size I posted it ;D

Just found the "bulk uploader" tool which seems to be faster than the standard way of uploading :-) Also gives you the option to resize to another size when you upload.
