Oh Smithy you should have ditched some of the booze and carried a nice warm sleeping bag! It was lovely to see Steve at the start- he looked great-hope to see you out and about soonx The Saturday was brilliant- enjoyed it sooo much The route was brilliant -terrain changing all the time and so full of history and interesting stuff- scared ourselves looking down those hugedeep holes by the quarry! Thanks Jeff for being a great guide and Smithy for the entertainment ;D Gill and I stopped at the spar for tea and cake before finishing the last leg home together -saw Rallybiker on h is wayhome from the forum ride-also had a great day so good all round ;D ;D

Brilliant effort fellas, and especially smithy for at least having the balls to give it a go Great to see the girls going along to give their support even though I suspect they just got roped in to carry mr smiths additional hair products (it's ok , I'm just jealous) And finally, great to see Steve back out and about and hope to see you on the trail again soon mate I would have loved to have given this a go but if I'm being honest I like my home comforts too much and when I'm talking home comforts I'm talking a nice piece of porcelain with a handle for flushing Don't worry about bailing early mr smith because as long as you made the team photo people will soon forget you didn't see the whole weekend out.

Cheers all for a great day out yesterday and for the excellent photos showing a wild part of wales that I'd not explored before.
Really enjoyed the day and thanks to Jeff not only for his guiding but also for his history lessons!!!
What an epic, shame you had to bail out today Smithy, see you all soon

Fanastic views, I would have done the Saturday ride with you but really wanted to do The Berwyns (which was totally mint), hopefully next time because it looks great.
Great to see Steve getting his face on the site again, hopefully see you out and about soon.
Smithy - WHAT A NUMBNUT! ;D

It certainly was an experience Smithy Big thanks to Steve for the lift down, great to see you back. Again well done to the girls for their sterling efforts in what was a very tough route on Saturday Big shame Smithy had to bail but as you said bud, we had a good craic on Saturday evening with fine food and a bevy ;D So the day started with Steve dropping us off to the meet the girlies in Capel for the route to Dolwddelan and beyond. Big pack (full of liquer) Big sweaty climb Then after the killer of a push up the forestry, we had the boggy area to cross to the mines Steady ;D Scary hole in the ground So after following the old mines tracks, it was some off piste action onto the main quarry road into Blaenau Then it was up the Crimea and onto 'the track everyone wants to do' And after saying our goodbyes to Sally and Gill to finish their ride to Capel, me and Smithy made the slog up to Llyn Diwaunydd. And after deciding not to be the midges Satuerday supper we went for dome height so we could be in the wind (no midges). And it was steep, very steep After picking our 'room' for the night we got settled for an evening of super noodles, chilli con carnie, chicken casserole, flamed grilled rump & lamb chops and all washed down with vodka & coke and southern comfort A cracking time having the craic surrounded with stunning views through the evening The night passed very rough in the wind and rain and Smithy had a bad night in the bag. So after an early start we quickly got off the mountain by going off piste to Pen y Gwryd, which was great and then onto Pinnacle cafe in Capel. After a well earned breafast, Steve came to the rescue for a very tired Smithy. Cheers Steve Cheers mate, get back on the bike soon cos I'd hate to see you turn into a keyboard biker So it was down to me to get myself home via Ogwen, Colwyd Coedty, Tal y fan and Conwy mountain. Good job there were no witnesses Dribbler ridge Cheers ;D

Chapeau gents........I was just thinking to myself the other day that the clockwork would be a good bike for something like this. Just have to get myself a disc brake compatible rack and some bivvy gear.
Might treat myself for crimbo and look at doing something similar next easter.
