Basically I'm selling a few items in order to try and fund a second hand road bike.
Looking at a budget of max £200, less would be a lot better. Tall order for anything reasonable I know but needs must etc (won't bore anyone with sob stories). Just needs to be a large frame as am 6ft.
Don't mind if it needs a little work (bearings, cassette/chain, general tlc) just needs to be complete and vaguely close to rideable.
So if anyone has anything or knows anyone who does then great, in the meantime I'm going to head away with the fairies (of the end of the garden kind of course)

Try Rutland warehouse (I think that's what it's called, found it on eBay). One of my work colleagues got a Raleigh diamondback for a bit over £200 new. Original list price was £450 and I set it up for him. It's not a fantastic bike but for 200 quid brand new you could certainly do a lot worse.
Sent from my ST15i using proboards

Still looking for a road bike, although budget stretching to £250 maybe £300 for something interesting. Forgot to mention am 6ft with 33" inside leg so needs to be on the large side.
Gutted I missed out on that Graham Weigh set up earlier in the year...

Read the reviews on the b-twin triban 3 road bike.
Also the carrera tdf and virtuoso were available for £269.99. In the summer i was lucky enough to loan a s-work carbon specilized bike, However i can honesty say my Carrera virtuoso never let me down all last year and when i did a road marathon. Its been thrashed on the road and the turbo trainer and is still as good as new ;D The only thing you will need to change when you buy is the pedals as they are a bit crappy.
The frames are quite light as well.
