The Juicy Carbon's were £180 at the time - before i spent the money elsewhere, but i'd be willing to spend a little more for the right setup.
08 XT brakes look tempting at £180, but not sure if i'd be better holding out for the 09 Saint's. They'd be over £200 though. Then again, so are the Hope's.

Iv always found Avid hard to beat especially the 7 and Carbon ones which have unbelievable stopping power, Avid now have the 08 model out which will mean the 07's dropping in price but for the new carbons at 160mm they are £139.99 separately or check out ebay and pick a full set of 08's for £199.95.

Having looked at the SRAM website, all the juicy range offers similar power, so if i'm finding the Juicy Three to be useless, the Carbon's - which i was going to buy last week, wont be any better

Formula Oro's K18's or K24's
have come top or well placed in most mag reviews in the last year. I like 'em!

I heard Formula brakes are a little on the unreliable side. Any problems with yours?

Changed my mind again Bought an Avid bleed kit off eBay and bled my brakes.......... loads of air in them! Especially in the troublesome rear. Obviously the Bike Factory never did them like i asked. Ordered a 185mm rotor and adaptor today to try and give the brakes a little more power. If all works out well, i'll stick with the Juicy Three's

If you are a bit on the heavy side the mono mini might not have the stopping power, Ive got them on my SCOTT and they do lack a little in power when you need it I have the mono minis and i'm a bit on the heavy side! ;D I would agree that they did lack a bit of power with the rotors i had on my standard setup (185mm front, 163mm rear). BUT I've upgraded to some nice bling bling 203mm HOPE floating rotors front and rear. I really can't fault the setup now, it's perfect.

Did you get the caliper adapter with the rotor Dan, or did you have to buy it separately?
Also, in your avatar picture, have you got a tyre on your wheel?

Had to buy the adaptor seperately. Yeah the tyre is on. Just looks small because the lens is close to the caliper, as well as the pic being resized for the avatar size

you should find it a lot better now with a bigger disc, and now that your brakes have been bled.
Let us know how you get on.

Yeh, I'll defo be interested to find out if you see a difference. You should stop on a penny now you've bled them, seeing a there was so much air in there and the new rotor. But they did have a LOT of travel before any bite before hand.
