Had a new full sus recently, thinking about going tubeless. wheels (650b) are already set up for tubeless option. Any tubeless fans out there or do I stay with tubes? Thanks adam

Go tubeless. Although on the second ride after I went tubeless I had a puncture/rip that the stans wasn't able to seal, his was at the furthest point along the Marin from my car, so had a long push back!! Haven't had a puncture in around 3 years since though.

Once you've done it you'll wonder why it took you so long. At the end of the first summer I went tubeless I took the tire off, I had 13 thorns stuck in, but no loss of air. That's potentially 13 punctures I didn't have. I always carry a tube, just in case, but a tear like Dyls' sounds like a tube wouldn't have helped and he would probably have pushed back either way!

I would personally recommend going tubeless although just like Dyls my first ride out I ended up with a 1/4" gash in a brand new rubber queen tyre. Not the best start, but since then they have been fine for me and have worked well. Last week I learnt that you should refresh the stans fluid after every 6-7 months as it does ball up inside after time. Found this out last weekend and had to put a tube in on a ride in the Dyfi forest.

Go Tubeless but carry an innertube. Awesomeness.

I was told that it's possible to use gaffa tape or bmx tubes cut lengthways as a cheap option, then use sealent.Do you need a compressor to inflate?

That's a good site,I don't think I would benefit as I like My tyres hard and use slime and dont puncture.

Ive managed to inflate my tyres quite easily with a floor pump. Yep. Not sure how good an aldi special would be, but I get mine seated with my Joe blow. No need for a compressor. Sent from my HTC One using proboards
