Ormite has a good point there m8, most of us would have lost it, the toys would have come right out of the pram if it was me, fair play you handled it pretty well

I really enjoyed todays final descent especially the doubletrack from the top farm and the singletrack footpath. ;D Better than the tarmac anyday. Edit to add- I'd have lost the plot if my frame broke. Very restrained mr whitedog.

Gutted I missed this one. Gutted for whitedog, seems he has a strong case as it must be unusual for a swingarm to fail, begs the question about carbon fibre and its apllication to mountain bikes. One Planet have so far given me good service, guess this will be the tester.

Looks like another crackin' ride there fellas. The route looks good and loads of fantastic scenary, especially the snow on the mountains. What the fook is all the lycra about though? And not a white sock to be seen anywhere? Whitedog - gutted for you mate, hope the guys at OPA sort you out ASAP, let us know how you get on. Dyls - i had a similar problem with my Mountain Kings on the Roman Road ride the week before, absolutely no grip on the wet grass or slippy grass.

So the Mountain Kings don't preform well on wet slippy grass, at least its a soft landing! I must admit on the conwy mountain forum ride there were times I shut my eyes and hoped for the best and pumped the bike to gain grip, have been considering some winter tyres. Got a pair of maxxis Advantages 2.25's I am wiling to swap if anyone is interested.

Looks like you guys had another good 'un! Sorry to hear about the bike Whitedog.
I've not found the 2.4 Mountain Kings to my liking either. Last week I got thrashed by a mate on the Marin. Of course I'm blaming the Mountain Kings. I've changed them to what I had lying around (a nearly new Conti Vertical for up front and a new Speed King Protection on the rear, both 2.1). Althought the Speed King is far from ideal for the winter, it was a lot better today above Pen than the Mountain Kings. I've found the Vertical to be pretty good on all surfaces local to me. So I've got two nearly new 2.4 Mountain Kings in the garage. I'd swap them any day for Conti Verticals!

I find mine quite good on the marin.
