Does anyone know the reason why cyclists are banned from riding on Lady Baggots Drive Between Rhewl in the Vale of Clwyd and Bontuchel

The OS landranger map shows it as a public footpath, so cyclists have no right of way along there. It also shows it as a long distance path (Clwydian Way?) so it should be well waymarked which gives plenty of opportunity to put up no cycling signs. It might be because they've spent a fair bit of money improving the path and don't want it getting churned up by mountain bikes, whereas before they just turned a blind eye. The person who owns the land can give permission for someone to cycle on there (it's his land so he can let people on) but if there's no cycling signs up there's a good chance he doesn't want cyclists on there! You could drop a line to Denbighshire CC - when I enquired about a bridleway that was shown on the map but fenced off the dude who replied to my email seemed to know all the history behind it and how they were trying to sort it out. Edit: although if you google it the second result suggests that there is more to it than first appears (sounds like the promenades at Colwyn Bay/Rhos on Sea/Llandudno)
