Hey guys, I was on the marin today and nearly every bit of rocky single track or jump i go on the chain comes off, a couple of weeks back i took a link out of my chain to see if it made a difference and it did but only a bit! Is there anything I can do to fix this relatively cheaply? Thanks in advance, Kieran

Mainly front ring but occasionally the rear cassette, both to be honest just when I'm going down a rocky bit the chain just shakes itself off

Try a different gear selection perhaps?
The problem can be if you are in the middle ring at the front and a small-ish cog at the back then the rear mech is already taking up lots of chain slack so can't really take up anymore when you hit some bumps.
So instead as an example go big ring up front with a larger cog at the back so you end up with similar overall gearing but the rear mech will have less chain slack to deal with so will cope with the bumps better.

remove more links; your chain is too slack

Okay ill try diffrenty gears and if not yeah ill take a couple of links out, will that not affect the gear selection as in it will not change gear when i select a gear? thanks guys!

Put the rear changer in big sprocket and the front in big ring (not recommended when riding as it strains the chain angle); in this position the rear jockey wheels should be approx. 1cm from the sprocket; if not remove links accordingly. Have you replaced your chain recently?

Yeah when i have the front on the biggest ring as well as the biggest cog on the cassette and the jockey wheel is about 1.2mm away from the cassette

Apart from a slightly bent chain set I can't help any more. Good luck
