Myself, Tony, Andy and Simon met up at The Marin car park this morning for a bit of exploring around The Marin Trail and Betws area.
We done the first couple of sections of The Marin as far as the 'Siabod View', the place where 90% of the pictures of a ride around The Marin are taken. Then it was a couple of cheeky trails that we put together to make our way towards Betws Y Coed. Obviously I don't want to go into too much detail, as most of the trails are not bike specific trails, but having said that, we didn't pass any 'No Biking' signs. Furthermore, all the walkers that we passed were friendly and chatty, just the way things should be between users of the great outdoors
We rode a number of trails that I'd not ridden before, two of which are going to be crackers when they're running dry in the summer
We ended up going over The Miner's Bridge and down the road into Betws for some soup and coffee. Then it was the big push up the 'waterfall footpath' that brings you to the bottom of the last climb on The Marin Trail. Then it was the last three descents before packing everything away by 3 o'clock.
A really good day in the saddle, with no hassle or arguments about which paths to take, There were a number of times when we doubled back having hit a dead end and one section we ended up pushing for a while as it was too slippy to ride, but no-one complained and everyone just got on with it
