Eight of us managed to get out of bed early enough to make the start of this ride, although Gareth only just made it by the skin of his teeth By the time we got back to the car we'd covered 23 miles with over 4,000 feet of climbing, but bugger me, it felt a lot more than that. The climbs were big, just as you expect from The Clwyds, but the difference this time was that there was no resting. The downhills were into a strong headwind where you had to pedal to make headway, and the flat sections were so muddy that it took a lot of effort to even move forward. I think everyone was glad to see the cars when we turned the last corner, but not as glad as we were to see the waitress bring the big plates of chips with bread and butter over to us once we got to the pub Cheers for those that made the effort, especially Karl & Sharon who joined us for the first 9 miles before peeling off to make their way back to the cars. Good to meet Andy and Nick, and also good to catch up with the usual suspects. Some pictures from today's ride -

Glad it's not just me that's feeling it!
Cheers for the route, the photos and for making me feel welcome.

Thanks Tarbo for a good days ride and everyone else for company. Though it was a bit wild on the tops and certainly a mud fest in places it was still good to be out on the bikes and felt like I really earned my chips at the end.
