I plan to make some changes to the main website in the next few weeks, The theme we are using is pretty old now and I have been using Wootheme's for all my other sites, there may be a little disruption from time to time, however this will not effect the Forum or the Facebook page it is only the website...Please bear with me whilst I make the changes, its to make administration of the site easier for me Many Thanks Dan B

I have now swapped the site onto the new management back end, which will make things easier for me to update in future. As you can see there is little difference on the front end, but you will notice if you use the mobile site this has improved. If anyone has anything they would like on the website, information, links etc if you email me your ideas and requests I will add the most suitable items to the site. Hopefully the transition was pretty painless for everyone, I managed to keep downtime to around an hour

For the past couple of days it seems to be be loading really slowly or not at all:
Google Chrome could not load the web page because mbnw.co.uk took too long to respond. The website may be down or you may be experiencing issues with your Internet connection.
Looks good though when it does load! Would be even better without the Flash plugin.

Hi Chris,
Yep my hosting company are upgrading the Plesk platform on their servers, things have been a little stop start and extremely frustrating trying to make changes, the works should be complete by Monday and things should settle down.
Yep the flash slider has probably had its day, do you know any suitable non-Flash free Wordpress slider pluggins that would achieve the same effect?

I don't have much experience of any Wordpress plugins, I had a quick look and noticed that most offer a limited functionality free version. There is quite a lot on that sidebar already, I don't think we'd be missing much if the Flash plugin was simply removed, the Facebook plugin would then move up to take its place. I must admit that it's been a while since I've explored the site in full, instead of going directly to the forum link. Here are some thoughts/ideas: MBNW Planner: Not sure what this does, should upcoming rides appear here? Merchandise: Is that a tax-disk holder? Waves: Not updated since 2011, the forum thread is a 404. Did people lose interest in this? or perhaps Strava killed it. Calendar: Changing this to a Google calendar would enable people to incorporate it into their own Google calendars, you could even add permissions for trusted people to post up their own unofficial rides, or add events. Trials: Only the Marin Trail is listed here, we could add much more to this page. This is also a good page for attracting Google searches = more site visitors! Forum/Facebook links: These both leave the MBNW site, so they should really open in a new tab/window. I know it's a lot easier to suggest ideas compared to actually implementing them, I think that some of us would be willing to help out where possible. The Trails page looks like a good candidate for accepting contributions. I appreciate the effort you put into the website.

Okay pretty comprehensive but at least its feedback. Flash now gone. Planner posts events from the Calendar page, when there are actually things to post they will go up there, i.e. forum rides which are on there. Merchandise ...no it is actually a clock and would look great in your kitchen as the kit order form and size chart need to go somewhere this will be staying. Calendar see Planner, I will take a look at the google calendar as its not something I have tried to incorporate into a site. Waves...Yep strava did indeed kill the wavio page! As it hasnt been and wont be updated it has also gone. Trails if anyone wants to write up the other trails, please feel free and email me the info to put up there. Forum/ Facebook Links yep now in new tab Feedback is appreciated as is content to put on the site, as per previous post if there is content people want on there please let me know and I will add the suitable bits to the site. This site is for everyone and I need people to contribute as this is a hobby not my paid job

Have had a play with the Google calendar briefly this afternoon, before the football I have got it working satisfactorily and will add dates accordingly, for now any dates that need adding I will do but there is the option to open this up to people if required. Thanks for your input Chris much appreciated. Cheers Dan B

Would it be worth having an uploader in the trails section so people can upload gpx files and similar ?

Yeah I spotted that, but then people don't necessarily have to upload them.... But the ability to download some would be very handy, especially for n00bs with no sense of direction and no local knowledge like myself.

I think the main concern was people with no local knowledge following some of GPX files that take you over trails you're not suppose to be on. The issue being if you come across an obstruction (Farmer) you will not know an alternative route to get you out of trouble. Anyway, don't want to open up another can of worms

I understand your concern though.
