Hello from Sunny Harrogate-on-Sea! Well, Yorkshire anyway. Martin has just called to see me (to look at and talk new bike options.....) and asked me to join the fun. He's on his way home now so will probably mention the visit himself.

We do a lot of riding from my shop here in town www.psychlosport.co.uk and have been down your way many times. This Sunday we are visiting Llandegla for the first time, about 9 of us. We hope to be there at the cafe for about 10-10.30 ish so if you see a group of lost looking Yorkies, give us a nod and show us around if you want. We may have several singlespeeders in our group so will be easy to recognise.

I'd love to come along just to watch the singlespeeders tearing their legs off up the switchbacks and the steep climb up to rejoin the red route. ;D Big respect if you guys can power your way around.

I don't singlespeed matey but I imagine its 98% ridable. Be a good fun loop on something like that but I'd still rather gears (could just be that I'm a big wimp!).

Your first time around should be a memorable one anyway, great fun to be had.

I rode with a couple of guys around Penmachno in the summer one of them had a singlespeed, on the final section of loop 2 I finally got ahead and had a nasty off trying not to be embarressed by the guy riding the singlespeed, I had to ditch the ride after my off.

May get over just to see a bunch of Yorkshire men arguing over whos paying for the cakes and moaning about paying the Carpark. ;D ;D

Came up against quite a few singlespeeds in a 24 hour race at grizedale earlier this year, if you are all of the same breed and im there i want a good head start

i'll give you that, we tend to be quite quick - the nature of the beast.

All the trails were shut at Llandegla this morning the recent snow has melted and then refrozen as sheet ice. A few hardy souls set out up the first climb but came back within a couple minutes walking/sliding back down the trail. Best give the visitor centre a call and see if it's open before wasting a journey www.coedllandegla.com/

Thanks for that - we did call and got the same message. seems they will have a trail inpsection at 0900 Sunday, so we may not get down this time.
