Six of us ventured up to Scotland for a weekend of riding some different trails, and how different they are.
Everything up there is just that little bit bigger. Unfortunately, that includes the climbs too But the reward for making those climbs is pure grin inducing downhill indulgence
We met up at Tebay Services on the M6 for breakfast before making our way to the Glentress Trail Centre. Once changed we were soon on our way up the twisting singletrack towards the Buzzard's Nest Carpark and the magnificent play park they have. After half an hour's reliving our youth on the table tops and jumps, we made our way up to the beginning of the Spooky Wood descent.
However, we got there a lot quicker than anticipated as there was a massive diversion due to logging in the forest. Therefore, instead of singletrack climbs and descents, we had a pretty unadventurous fire road climb for about a mile
After a brief rest at the top it was time to turn on the grin factor with the descent of Spooky Wood. And it never fails to deliver, so much so that we went back up to do it again before making our way down the Red route towards the centre and the car park. For those that have never been, then it's something you have just got to do
Then it was the adventure of trying to find our digs in Peebles. Once we were sorted, showered and changed it was beer and food time before the long uphill walk back to our digs.

A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day.
