Looks very wet up there - I'm a fair weather cyclist myself.
Isn't the small dam called Coedty and not Cowlyd?

I've done this one a few times. We used to drive (rather than walk!) up the first hill and park near the bottom dam. The section down from the top dam to the bottom can be a real blast! Have you tried going up to the higher dam (the one at the top of your map)? I did it once in the snow and ice and came down a real steep wild section, which wasn't a great route! There must be some good routes up there somewhere??
