Heres a couple of pics from todays reccy of moel Y Ci, this place is proper DH and a DH bike and full face are highly recommeded, this trail scares me but ill be back very soon ;D. Check the vid of Dan doing the gap jump, its bigger in real life than it looks on the vid.

Haha, all looks tiny on the vid doesn't it. ;D Pretty full on place and certainly not one for the faint hearted. So many polished roots and big gnarly rocks combined with some serious gradient made for an interesting first descent. We were ripping by the time we left though weren't we mate.

Different kind of bike needed for this one. Just have to wait until I find a stinky frame.

You don't need a different kind of bike at all mate, just a different set of skills to your usual trail centre stuff and a "have a go" attitude. Well worth taking some pads though. I'm looking forward to riding the Marin tomorrow now, going to be like riding along the prom in comparison. ;D

Brilliant isn't it?! Never had the balls to do the jumps so hats off lads! Did you manage the very top drop off too? There's lots of brilliant natural trails and great loops you can make to incorporate this DH section too. It's local to Gar, Williat9 and I. Maybe a forum ride sometime?

Really good mate, couldn't believe how well built it was if a little tight and techy at the top. ;D Defo needed a local with us though to show us around. Forum ride sounds good. I'll get in touch with St Johns.

I never done the big gap jump, but will have a serious talk with myself and nail it next time, we managed all of the other drops. Give us a shout if ya ever going up mate would be cool to see the rest of the trails. Dont know about a forum ride tho mate, reckon we would have to hire an ambulence for the day ;D

I'll have a chat with the guys and see what we can arrange. Really varied terrain, you'll love it. If it was a forum ride the DH course could be an optional extra

fair play for doing all the big drops, especially that big rocky one at the top. and the gaps impressive, how long did it take you to psych up for that one?

:-). Yea, fair play. Sorry no way i was getting up after last nite. (I blame dyl and tony :-P) Glad u found it no probs with my dodgy directions. After the lads get bk from glentress im gonna go up with oggy to show the other two lines, then the quarry. Any one welcome. U don t have 2 have a full on dh there. The guy that build it rides a hard tail, but he s awsome. We ll post up when we ve arranged a day.
