Up at Llandgela today there were some leaflets on the wall for mountain biking at Coed Nercwys (Forestry Commission place).
"Ooo a new place to ride on my doorstep" I thought as I picked one up and put it in my bag.
When I got home and read it the entire leaflet was dedicated to a whole 4.2kmof green route that has just been opened woo!
I might give that one a miss - apparently the whole route is shared with walkers.

I have been there a few times with the dog, its a family ride. Ok for a quick thrash.... until you hit a walker or a horse!

I live just outside Nercwys so I occasionally ride up to and then round the forest. It's not exactly chock-a-block with other users but it is an all user trail so you have to keep the speed down a bit. Alright for a quick ride from the doorstep but definitely not worth driving out to.

4 Village ride is good for a quick blast, shame they ruined the descent down from Eryrys by filling in all the deep holes, luckily I know some local 4x4 owners and I've asked them to rag up and down it a bit to get it back into shape again. Rode the route a couple weeks back and noticed some "alternate" trails that make things a bit more interesting within the forest itself.

Dog eggs are the main hazard at Coed Nercwys (other than walkers)
