With it being such a nice morning i had to get out. So after starting at Synchnant Pass I followed the icy track to Cae Coch. From there it was a short and steep bit of tarmac to Bwlch y Gaer. My intentions were to go to the Bothy at Dulyn resesvoir?! because with the frozen track i might have made it, but it wasn't to be. It was just too icy. So I ended up turning back to Cae Coch and then to the Quarries on Tal y Fan for a quick blast back to the car. But the scenery was great.

Im planning on going up tomorrow, up the roman road from Aber, up to Drum and then back down possibly to Conwy, Was it really bad up there for ice?

I didn't hit the roman road but anything in the shade was frozen. Its just wherever there was a 'stream' on the track it was solid. In places it took the width of the track and in others it was just one side. so.............................. enjoy it To be honest it didn't feel that cold! (I wasn't in shorts though!) only when i dropped into the car park at the end cos the mist had rolled in!

Ive just filled me hipflask with some finest single malt to warm the cockles ;D

Great pic's mate. I hate ice you ride to the top and at the top you get ready to bomb down only to slow dowm before the ICE gets you. :-(
