hello all, I'm Ben from Anglesey. I've been into MTB years ago but haven't really done anything now for quite a few years. After a recent ride on hired bikes around the Marin Trail at Betws (brilliant fun i've decided to get back into it.
As a first start I've ordered a Giant Trance 3 from paulscycles (www.paulscycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m1b4s1p1291&z=1460) which should arrive within the next couple of days (can't wait ;D). This is to replace my 18 year old Marin Bear Valley which has been a great bike, albeit bone jarring!
I guess its going to take me at least a month or so to get up to a reasonable level of fitness (and for the backside to stop hurting ). Would be great to get some tips for other routes to ride and maybe meet up with some members for a ride (once i can keep up )

Nice 1 Ben, friendly helpful bunch of nutters on here so feel free to ask any questions.
Dont worry about the fitness mate-e, u will be surprised at how fast it comes back.
Hopefully going to arrange a forum ride for august some time be great if you could come along will be a leisurely pace with plenty of banter

Hi Ben im from Benllech and have just recently got into MTB with my bro . Have done a few rides to get some fitness so hope to hit the marin or llandegla pretty soon . Nice discount on that bike

Thanks for the welcomes gav and ftasb.

The bike arrived today, I've been like a kid at christmas! ;D
Been out for a little ride around the neighborhood with my daughter and it feels great, even managed to get some air over the speedbumps LOL

Shame I will be on nights now all over the weekend but I hope to get out in the hills next week. I need to get myself a shock pump and have a play with the preload as its a bit bouncy at the moment but i'm sure it will be really comfy on a trail.
