Always on the lookout for new routes around Macc and our side of Derbyshire myself. Do you know any that are hidden away FTASB?

To be honest mate, i've only ever been walking around Macc and over in the Peaks.
I tend to stick to North Wales or the Lakes for MTBing.
Shame really as it's on my doorstep, and probably easier to get to than North Wales.

Some good routes there, the Hayfield and Goyt valley ride is a version of 1 that we do quite a bit. Not got the legs and lungs at the minute to manage all the part from points 10 to 11 (the climb from just after Roman Lakes up to the cross ). The pic i put on earlier was taken coming down from the cross alongside Mellor golf course.

Is that track the one you get to just after the end of the tarmac?

Yes, the actual path goes to the left to the house and then you drop down the side of their wall/ fence but i prefer this way which the enduros usually use. Then only a few yards after the pic the path splits in 2, left brings you out between the houses and right is a very loose path,

Pretty sure there is a demo day taking place at Roman lakes on 1st March, bikeshak, www.bikeshak.co.uk/ , highpeakcycles and cyclecentre are provisionally attending. I think this day is being organised by a palligap rep.
