Ouch The more I ride, the more I speak to other riders and the more crashes I have, the more I think I should have knee and elbow pads ;D

I bet that stung? nasty cut that. I know it wasnt a nice thing to happen but I enjoyed reading all about it. I get the piss taken out of me because of the rather large 1st aid kit I carry on rides but like what happened to you there you never know when you may want it. I also carry a SAM splint with me just incase. www.sammedical.com/sam_splint.htmlBet you have a cracking scar there now!

Funnily enough it didn't hurt. My brain did that great thing of realising what had happened, deciding it would be too painful and just shut the nerves down. The only discomfort was the itching of the stitches just before they were taken out.
The scar is pretty cool ;D

OUCH OUCH OUCH Just proves how necessary a first aid kit is to have with you on a ride with preferably some first aid training. Right, that has got me looking for 2 things - a decent first aid kit and a first aid course
