Thinking its time my roof bars come off and putting my bike in the back of the car, as its an estate car its not a problem, think were right to be paranoid about the theifing scumbags.

Its not a problem just at llandegla, bikes will be nicked from anywhere. cars parked at the marin car park, or even penmachno can be targets for potential thieves, your bike rack could easily go missing up there.

I was sat outside the hub at Glentress on the weekend and there must have been tens of thousands of pounds worth of bike unattended outside including bikes like Trek sessions 88's, pretty unbelivible that people are so trusting in this day and age. For some reason people (including myself) seem to think if we leave our bikes outside trail centres then they wont get nicked but i suppose all it would take would be one person. Really need to be more careful

Was on a forum ride a couple of years ago (different forum) at llandegla & got asked if we'd seen anything by a guy who'd just had a £2K bike taken off the decking area. One of us must of watch it happen without realising, (why would you?).
I blame programs like "the real hustle" for glamourising confidence trickster type crime. or something.

Hanging's too good for 'em!! Why should we work hard for the tings we have, just for someone to take it away, which takes no thought or work at all And then people feel that they were the stupid ones for not locking the bikes, when something like that happens etc. Why should that be??? Will it be covered by insurance, or is it not worth the excess or increased premiums?

There has been bikes stolen before from outside Llandegla cafe.
When we go to the cafe, one of the lads usually stays outside with the bikes when we get stuff from the cafe. People do seem so trusting when in that kind of environment at a trail centre.

I think that web cams at Llandegla would be a great idea for safety and for us to be able to check out how the weather is up there.
I also hope its a one off becuase I carry enough weight in my pack without having to stick a bloody bike lock in it aswell.....

Tossers of the highest order, does not matter where you go there will be someone to exploit and spoil it for the normal folk, I always carry a cheap lightweight cable lock in my bag for this reason,

i've seen plenty of cars just come into the car park. They have a little drive around then go out again. I had my bike stolen from my garage last year just after i did the merida at ruthin. The police reckon they must of followed us home and then came back the next day.

I remember that one Santibes. I just keep a small lock that came free with one of the MB mags in my backpack and when I go into the cafe lock the wheel to the frame. You just need something to make yours a more difiicult target than the bike next to yours. You can get small locks for about £5 by searching for snowboard locks on ebay.
