Anyone else use Memory-Map, Anquet or Tracklogs. Maybe we could set up a page or thread to put up N Wales routes.

I've got a copy of memory map on my pc and phone, i've used it for planning routes and checking locatios but not with the gps thingy to track your route. Handy software though.

I've got quite a few gpx routes for north wales, Marin, mbr, penmachno, routes in llanberis, llyn Cowlyd, Elins revenge and so on. Some of them are from the Bikefax book as well.
I've also got quite a few trekking routes such as the 14/15 peaks and so on.

I've been looking at this one for a while, mainly because i can download the software onto my phone and it seems quite reasonable price wise - Anyone heard of / used this?

Ah, just what I've been looking for. My phone won't accept Memory-Map, but will accept this. I'll have to download the trial and give it a go.

Yip I have it on my phone, excellent piece of kit and reasonably priced as well if you already have the phone. I use it mostly for hiking though - the battery on my Nokia navigator usually lasts around 7 hours using this on all the time. You can actually buy and download straight from the viewranger website as well if you can't wait for the postage.

Sorry - it means Line of Sight, which is as obvious as it seems, can you see between two grid references.
Frome the screen shots it looks like it possibly does... but I specificaly need to know if you can change the K - factor for curvature of the earth. I know this isn't really needed for MTB use but I wondered if anyone here was using it for other purposes.
Regards Paul

There is no feature to check LOS.

Thats a pity - having that would have made the descision easier ( cos work might have paid :-)
I use my Garmin GPS-5 to save routes then overlay them on google earth pics whch is a fun way to pass an hour or so.. assuming I don't switch the gps off when putting it in the pack.. grrrr...

I think i've answered my own question ;D
I see in Memory Map that you can export routes as GPX files, and i've just read on the ViewRanger website that you can import GPX files.
So, in theory that should work, shouldn't it? Can anyone confirm?
Oggy - If this does work then we can just buy the ViewRanger software for our phones for £15 and import routes created in Memory Map. Sorted ;D
