I'm thinking about buying some Crank Brothers Candy SL pedals and was wondering if anyone had an opinion on them?
How do they compare to Shimano clipless? ;D ;D

Ive got them on both of my bikes. I find them better than shimano's for float and a lot more sure footed, especially with the little platform on the candy's.
The CB's are a lot less hassle than shimanos, less moving parts and clear mud easier. The only downside to the CB's is they don't have an clip in adjustment like shimanos. The clip out angle depends on which feet you put the cleats on, you can either have a 20 or 15 degree clip out angle. With time the brass washers wear and unclipping becomes a lot easier.
The CB's also come with a screw in grease port where you can periodically take off the end cap, screw in the port and with a grease gun flush out the old grease for new. You can even buy baring rebuild kits to keep them going longer.

I have an old pair your welcome to try! Thanks ady, I might take you up on that offer. In the meantime, what did you think to them?

Found them more comfy and better on my knees than shimanos as they are more floaty, I surprisingly found them easier to use than shimanos. But I am not a big fan of being clipped in especially now I am on flats, I have so much more confidence and I am a bit more courageous with my riding now.

i have a pair of acid 1 CB's, i've been using them for about 4 months and they seemed fine till about a month ago, now the springs seem to be going as it doesn't always spring back. might just be my pedals but i'd be careful with them

My GT came with those, one outing at Llandegla, and promptly switched to V8's. Didn't enjoy it, but they are now on my road bike, and I wouldn't be without them to be fair...
