I was on holiday with the family last weekend up in the lake district with the family so the oppurtunity to go riding somwhere different was too much to resist
Wifey dropped me of at the whinlatter visitor centre whilst she took the kids into Keswick.
Heres the pics from the first climb on the north loop
Its best not to look down too much or you will find yourself down there!!!
After a climb on some forest road and some switchback singletrack, this is where the fun begins with awesome technical terrain and some brilliant switchbacks & jumps on the last section back into the car park
Just across the road back at the centre is the south loop
This loop seem to be just relentless climb on some sometimes very tight switchback's but at the summit the view was stunning, sorry didnt take a pic as i wanted to press on as i had just got passed a school trip full of childen on the climb so didnt want to be baulked on the great down hill section which had a nice north shore drop off too.
As it had taken less the 2 hrs to ride both loops i decided to go and do another north loop as it was that good!!!
Then finished off with a well deserved coffee & cake
Will be making another trip up there soon with some wider rubber fitted.
On the sunday i ventured up to grizedale to the north face trail.
This was ok but i found it very sectional with long forest road sections in between, it didnt have much flow to it compared to whinlatter but the terrain used was good with plenty of boardwalk sections used too
