Hi Guys,
I've been mountain biking for over 20 years now, but can still give you yung un's a run for your money. Heard about you in NWWN article.
I've ridden nearly everything that's worth riding in N Wales over the years, but always looking for something new. Is the new Penmachno loop any good as I've not done that yet??
My local ride is from Llanddulas where I live, up behing the quarry in Llysfaen, downhill into Rhyd y Foel then offroad lung busting climb up into the woods above Gwrych Castle where the locals have built numerous trails and runs for all abilities. Then through to Tan y Goppa woods in Abergele where there are a number of different circuits and some very techical steep decents. An excellent playground with loads of variety and challenges right on the doorstep.
Another recent find which is a great ride, we did on Sunday. 50 kms in all from Llanddulas - to Rhos on cycleway, thro rugby club into Glanwyddan, offroad up into Pydew into woods a rear of Bodysgallen Hall, thro to Llan Jcn and Conwy, up Conwy mountain over sychnant pass then moorland climb on N Wales path to distant quarry. Great fast flowing downhill for about 4 miles from here back into Conwy then retrace route back home. 4 hrs in total.
Usually ride every Sunday morning at least , :)with my mate Kev and my wife Ally.
I am a Spinning instructor as well and take 3 classes a week at Saints gym in Meliden, so if any of you want to try it out to keep you bike fit thro the winter just let me know.
regards Spinner

Welcome aboard Spinner ;D Usually ride every Sunday morning at least , :)with my mate Kev and my wife Ally. Don't take this the wrong way mate but is that a good thing or a bad thing? Riding with your wife i mean! (serious question) I don't think i'd get my mrs anyway near a bike, never mind using it in anger at a trail centre, etc. Come to think of it, MTBing is a good reason for getting away from the wife for a few hours! ;D
