Has anyone ridden the loop of lake vyrnwy as shown on flat tyres routes as i was thinking of heading up there for a change as its not to far from home. Is it wide enough to take a trailer around to as i might try and take junior around to - i normally take him around nant yr arian so technical isn't an issue.

It's got an off camber rooty section at (9) on Cols map with a massive drop if you get it wrong, the descent from there down to Hirnant is bloody steep and sketchy, it's a bridlepath that's had a groove worn in it over the years and every time I've ridden with a group down there at least one person has come off. (6) as Col points out can be a bit boggy, last time I rode down it I was catapulted over the bars and landed headfirst but it was that soft I didn't feel a thing.
My honest advice would be to recce it out before attempting to take a beginner or a trailer anywhere near it.

Not it's not suitable for a trailer, the second half anyway. From para. 8 to 11 is where you would have a problem, definitely not doable with a trailer. Also you may have problems with para. 6 to 7, it can get quite boggy on the flat bit at the top. Once you come off the top you might be ok as the trail is mud/grass. But in the wet, with the mud being quite slippy you might encounter problems. You could cut out the Hirnant descent section by going straight on at para. 8 and descending the trail straight on all the way down to the road. You could then turn right and climb the road to pick my route back up again at the junction halfway between para 11 and 12. If you want/need a shorter run turn left at para 5 (instead of going right) and ride back the way I have just mentioned. Hope it works out
