The Pendam is more or less a short version of the Summit. If you don't fancy the Syfydryn(which is a great trail), then ride the Summit, but add Hippety Hop and the next two short singletracks of the Pendam.

Did the syfydrin trail a few months back, some good single track to start with then about 20k of xc over fields mostly double track, then once you get near the forest again theres some really good singletrack. If your going to travel that far then may aswell do the syfydrin trail bit far to travel to do 10k, I'd give it a 7 out of 10 just needs a bit more singletrack. you could always do the climax aswell not far from there.

Forgot to say, if you have ridden MBR and Llandegla red/black, then you won't have any trouble with any trails at Nant Yr Arian

to be honest nant yr arian is one of the best places to go in the wet, drains well and plenty of grip. ;D

Went up around Nant yr Arian with a friend who works there on Saturday. We did about half of the Syfydrin trail. It was really quiet and we hardly saw a soul - more roadies out than mountain bikers! to be honest nant yr arian is one of the best places to go in the wet, drains well and plenty of grip. ;D I agree with the lots of grip but some of the bits we were on certainly didn't drain very well! (the byway after Llyn Nan y Moch) There were a few of those "That puddle's not that deep oh sh!t the water's over my ankles" moments ;D The singletrack sections that they had built were fine though. Best moment was coming down the final singletrack at stupid speed only for one of those huge red kites to fly out the trees across my path! Glad my brakes were working!
