There may already be a thread for this already, but can anyone suggest how i stop my front disc brake from squealing all the time it's used. It's the same in wet or dry weather and its driving me nuts. Was the same with the old pads and the new ones i've just put on. Cheers!

If you have IS disc mounts are they faced? Have you tried a tiny (and I mean tiny) dab of Copaslip on the back of the pads, making sure it gets nowhere near the braking surface of the pad. Disc rotors flat? - lay them on a sheet of glass to check. Are the rotors free from contamination? Bit of wet n dry and rub them lightly at 90 degrees to the rotation.

They are IS mounts but they haven't always squealed so i'm guessing its not that. What is this Copaslip you speak of?? I'll check the rotors for warps and try some wet'n'dry as suggested. Ta Russ

It's a sorta high temp grease with suspended copper particles in it, to stop metal on metal seizing. It's sometimes spelt as copperslip. If your brake pad backing plates are metal then it's worth a try putting a small dab of it on and smearing it about with your finger, making sure that there's not enough of it to work around to the front of your pads. Works a treat on squealing Hope brakes.
Getting your mounts faced is worth doing if you have braking problems on IS mounts, if you are not using Avids.
