The weather was stunning on Saturday afternoon, the missus was soaking up the sun in the garden and the kids were happily entertained, so I snuck off on the road bike for a few hours. Route: Summerhill, Cymau, Llanfynydd, Llandegla, Horseshoe Pass, Llangollen, Ruabon, Bersham, Home (34Mile). The views from the top of the horseshoe pass were breathtaking, or maybe it was the climb up there ;D ;D There was an accident with a motorbike near the top, police were on the scene. Hope no one was hurt On the way down from the Horseshoe pass I got stuck behind a convoy of cars doing 40mph. Kept having to dab the brakes ;D ;D That felt a bit weird ;D ;D Until I remembered about the cattle grid Here's a couple of pic's This is about as off road as it gets lately View of the way down Just after I took this photo the missus rang to see how long I was going to be, as she wanted to pop out. So I ended up battering it all the way home. Gave the legs a real good work out. I just hope all this road work will help me when I get the mtb back

Looks like a nice ride Phil - when you back mtb'ing? I'm really hoping to have the bike back in time for the visit to the lakes next Saturday. If not I'll be doing some major sulking. I've asked Alf's for a demo bike to take for the day and they refused quote "we don't do demo bikes". Needless to say I am not impressed. They have fulfilled the warranty to the letter, but have not gone any further. I have made my feelings quite clear with regards to where I feel they're level of customer service stands. I'll get the frame back and then have a serious think about where I should spend my hard earned in the future. That said until I've got the frame back I'll reserve full judgement, you never know they might surprise me

I've asked Alf's for a demo bike to take for the day and they refused quote "we don't do demo bikes". A courtesy bike I think you mean ;D Maybe hire one at Whinlatter?
