Anyone else heard of this only came across it now and was opened in April 09 HERITAGE minister Alun Ffred Jones put his pedal to the metal last week when he visited the Conwy Valley to open a mountain bike trail. The hands-on AM for Arfon took time out of his busy schedule to officially open the stunning outdoor mountain bike trail at Nant Bwlch yr Haearn outdoor education centre, Llanrwst. The Llwybr Haeran bike trail is located high in the Gwydir forest, near Llanrwst, within the beautiful scenery of the Snowdonia National Park. The minister was shown the bike trail and how the outdoor centre caters for a variety of activities and outdoor pursuits. He also watched as youngsters demonstrated bike skills and even had a go on a mountain bike himself. He said: "I am very pleased to launch Llwybr Haearn, a skills course suitable for beginner and advanced mountain bike riders. “It has a vision to inspire a new generation of skilled mountain bikers in a safe and secure environment, with the ultimate aim of getting individuals and families to discover the myriad of biking trails here.” The development was made possible by a Welsh Assembly Government investment of £35,000. beicio.com/en/newyddion/
