Looks like I may well have a pass for the Selkirk Merida on 2 August www.mtb-marathon.co.uk/events/selkirk.php ;D Will know for deffo in next few days but looks likely. Deffo too far to drive in one day so the plan would be to head up on the Saturday and camp over for the ride on the Sunday. Thistle - you mentioned you may be up for it. I could drive and you supply the tent Is there going to be any support from other MBNW members

Will hopefully make this one with two other mates who had threatened to ride at the last one but never did. Don't know if I'm up for camping - I do prefer a proper bed ;D but will be staying over somewhere nearby.

I'm not 100% sure at the moment as it was a lot of hassle going down and setting up camp just for 1 night (mainly due to the size of my tent!) and the cooking etc.
I'm tempted by davydonn's idea of finding a B&B nearby, but can they do breakfast for you early enough? It was good being part of the event though so might camp....
Did you have your heart set on camping Si?

I'm happy to do either mate - prob prefer a B&B as long as we can find something resonably priced. You up for going if we get a B&B?

I'll probably have a bash at this folks. Anyone up for a lift share or owt like that? Dan, me and the Thistle are going down on the Saturday -booked a guest house 3 miles from the start point at £30 per person per night. I have a decent bike rack that is supposed to fit 3 bikes on (saris bones rs 3) but only ever tried with 2. 3 may be tight and don't want to scratch anyone's bike-but do-able with the strategically placed pipe lagging ;D. I'm going to check tonight if my bike will fit in boot without the wheels - if it does then you are welcome for a lift mate - just need to sort accomodation. Let me know if you are interested and I will pop you a link to the guesthouse we are in - if they are full then no doubt there will be one nearby

Simon I'll book your place with mine - I'll need all your details to do it online or you can fill in the paper form and I'll do mine by snail mail too. If your bike goes in the boot, make sure there's still enough space for kit Are you taking your rack on Wednesday? Do you want to try fitting 3 on it? We can steal someone else's to be number 3 ;D

Hopefully going on Wednesday - just need to see how my day goes at work and where I end up in the afternoon. Re online application for Merida - don't think the option is working so may have to be snail mail anyways Kit should fit in boot/back seat as long as you are not taking your partying outfit and dancing shoes for the Saturday night ;D

My two mates have let me down so I'm heading up to this on my own . I've just called the Whitmuir Farm and booked a room for the Saturday night. I asked about the other guys staying there and the nice lady said SiMoult and Thistle had booked a room. Is anyone else going up as I don't mind sharing a room to save a few quid? Also who's driving up? I can share with someone - got two bike racks on the roof.
