Was thinking of doing Drum tomorrow, just wondering what's the weather been like that way today?
I've been up to the crossroads and turned back as people were turning blue in a previous soggy July (07) so I don't fancy another repeat of that!

it's been raining for about 20 hours non stop in bangor last night / today, drum is so rocky it hardly matters how much rain has fallen really. whatever the weather is like in the carpark it's normally a lot colder and very windy up the summit. if the weather is reasonably ok go up and have a blast down, i've been putting it off for the last few days because the weather has been very poor. i go there at least once a week, it's my favorite downhill ride in north wales!!
(lookout for little rock ramps on the water channels on the way down if they haven't been washed away)

Was planning on doing Synchnant, Rowen YHA, along the road to the crossroads and up Drum, then returning via Llanfairfechan and the coastal path, so plenty of water n mud involved... might stay in bed instead

. might stay in bed instead Nah! thats just a waste of a day.....go for it! We did Llyn Brenig and the moors today in the p##sin down rain, had a good day, As long as you've got the right gear on for the conditions....you'll only regret stayin' in bed Sure my bike could double up as a boat

I've hiked down from Drum to Aber a few times (albeit a few years ago) but I was so knackered/dark at the time I can't remember much about it. Anyway is it ridable up as well as down?

Sure my bike could double up as a boat That looks like an easy way to clean my bike ;D Leaving it out on the balcony isn't working too well

Anyway is it ridable up as well as down? a lot of it is very rideable up, some bits are very rocky and difficult to ride/near impossible. the bridleway has been smoothed out a bit in the last few years, it used to be a lot rockier! so in answer to your question 'yes' sort of!
