Apart from North Wales, where else have you ridden? Doug has mentioned hes been to France, Martin to Cyprus and others are heading up to Glentress this summer. Me - I haven't been to anywhere else. On my to do list this summer I would like to head to south Wales for a (long) weekend (or maybe a week) to Afan Forest and possibly do a detour back past Brechfa and also do the Gap in the Beacons. This might well take more than a weekend though! I would also like to do the trails in Machynlleth and Llandegla on a day out basis.

Me and martin where toying with the idea of going down to south wales, staying over the night in macynlleth to ride the climax.
Ive not really dont much outside NW, but really want to try some new areas, Perhaps there may be some forum trips further a field than NW in the future, that was in the back of my mind when setting up the forum ;D

I've done The North Face Trail up in the Lakes four or five times now. That's a good ride, i'd say it was a lot easier that the likes of the MBR or Marin trails though.
The uphills are mostly technical singletrack on a gentle gradient so it feels like you're not actually climbing. A few nice Northshore sections.
The last descent has a few tight switchbacks to watch out for, if you miss them then you're straight down a big ditch.
Beautiful scenary as well, with good views over Coniston.

Only riding i've done outside of North Wales was from Chester train station to Chester Zoo when i worked there None of my friends are into biking, so i've never had the urge to drive several hours somewhere to ride my bike on my own. Furthest i've gone to ride somewhere was CYB with ftasb last week, and i even think thats a little too far to do on your own - and thats only an hour away (A little further with Dave's navigation skills) You always have to remember that if you come off, your quite away from home.

I've left the confines of Wales and travelled to deepest, darkest Chester. I did the canal towpaths. Apart from that, I've only "done" north wales.

I've done a bit in spain (hired a cluncky old hardrock) and made up my routes as I went along. Also above Ambleside in the lakes. Hope to try a bit in Scotland in the future.

I've done some in the lakes whilst on Hike & Bike weekends with the RoundTable guys also been to Nant Y Arian (cracking place) good night out in Aberystwyth afte. Also did the Northface trail in Grizdale..losts of northshore was'nt that impressed although it pissed it down the whole time. Looking forward to going to Glentress on 16th August.
Would love to do a Peak District ride and South Wales Afan etc.
Lets get something organized for a forum ride away..passes permitting.

I'd like to do Grizdale. I know its not meant to be technically challenging, but i'd still like to go.
