I live in Llanddulas and there is a great and challenging ride right from my door. Go up road climb past old Llanddulas hall to Llysfaen off road round back of quarry, great downhill into Rhyd y Foel then lung busting singletrack climb up into woods on other side of the valley. All off road trails now behind the 'Keep' which you can see on the hillside from the expressway, then fast singletrack behind Gwrych Castle down into back of Abergele golf club, into tan y Goppa woods, couple of great circuits with challenging tech, steep down hills here, then back into castle woods to ride loads of manbuilt trails which the lads have built from top of the hill, some great stuff here for all abilities where you could play all day in the bomb holes, berms, jumps etc etc then back downhill and country lane back to Llanddulas. Ride can be as long or short as you like depending on how much you want to play or do various loops ! So lucky to have this training ground so close by. Usually do it every 2 - 3 weeks when we want to stay local, so if anyone is interested in joining me and my mate and sometimes my wife, then let me know and I'll arrange something.

Absolutely nothing on my doorstep , nearest ride is Delamere Forest and that's about 15 miles away so it's a car journey. I think i live in one of the flattest counties in the UK

That sounds great I could nip along the cycle path on the seafront to get to Llandulas Brill. Count me in, if you can PM or email me when your doing the ride again. I have heard of the route behind Gwrych castle and always been curious about it but never gone out to find it for myself.

Plenty to play on at Parys Mountain which is 5 mins from here. Very rocky and unforgiving when you come off.

Ady, Don't be put off by the above injuries, we keep our wheels pretty close to terra firma ! Seen too many injuries to attempt that stuff. Keep it real !
