Just been having a scout round on memory map and come across Llantysilio Mountain.
Parking just above the Horse Shoe Pass above Llangollen going down passed the quarry and into the valley below and returning up around 1,000 plus feet of climbing. Route around 13 miles.
Anybody done this mountain.
Might have to go and have a look

Yes there is some great riding over and around Llantysilio mountain! I normally ride over it from West to East going Moel Morfydd, Moel Y Gaer, Moel Y Gamelin, Moel Y faen and then down to the Ponderosa. Riding it this way means that the there are some nasty steep climbs and push ups but the downhills are top drawer ;D It can be ridden in the opposite direction but the descent down Moel Y Gamelin is very very steep (don't fancy this personally). There is however a very sweet looking piece of singletrack heading South East off Moel Y Gamelin but this is not shown on an OS map. There is a bridleway to the North of the mountain that takes you from the Ponderosa to the foot of Moel Morfydd. It was a little overgrown when I went there a few weeks ago but it's still all rideable.

there's a ride in the northeast wales bikefax book- "the conquering hero" which goes from the Sun in Rhewl, up over Llantysilio mountain which, although short, is a good blast.
Also the quarries around the horseshoe pass are worth a look, although I've not been up there for years.
