You must realise that no two people are the same. My late wife was a top distance runner acheiving sub 1-30 half marathons and sub 3-20 marathons in her mid 50's and only did 50 miles per week at a steady pace; but I had to do fartlek and intervals to reach my top standard. Don't compare with each other; do what is best for YOU
