I ve just bought and fitted two slime inner tubes , not much more than normal tubes . Has anyone else used them , how did you find them? I ve had a puncture EVERY time i ve ridden off road ! Bad luck or terrain?

What tyre pressures you running at?
Pinch punctures or thorn type pin holes?
it will be interesting to know how you get on with them, We put slimed tubes in all the bikes we had in cyprus because of things we used to call 'death stars' tiny seed cases just a bit smaller than a pea that were coverd inpretty nasty horns or spikes. The slimed tubes didnt work you could see the slime leaking out of the hole all over the tyre. Dont know if it was because the slime couldnt cope with the size of the hole the death stars made, bout the size of a gorse bush thorm.
We had to combine the slime tubes with a puncture proof insert that went on the inside of the tyres.

I run about 40psi is that too low ? Every puncture has been a thorn etc . Rode yesterday with the new tubes lots more tyre noise but no puncture . Did look at the slime insert s too but as i needed a new tube i bought the tubes .

I've been running these for a while in the mtb and never had a puncture - although over many years I've been very lucky with punctures anyway, so thats not a very qualative statement. The only thing I noticed was the out of balance feel until the gloop sloshes round the tube. I think maybe when airing up and down the tyres for different terrain is more tricky as you want to avoid the green sh1t gumming up thje valve when letting air out so I always give it a few minutes to run away from the valve before I do it.
What wasn't intuitive (to me) was why you should place the valve at 30' or 330' when doing this rather than just having the valve at the top. So I tried it several times and of course a bit of slime stays in the area of the valve unless you follow the instructions :-)

I ride through a local forest with many tracks some have brambles , i suppose i ll just have to see with these tubes . Got to be worth a go for £8.99 each? My mate i ride with hasn t had a single puncture ! Could tyre compound hard/soft come in to it? I run Kenda Nevegals , standard on bike ?

The Nevegal's came standard on my bike. Great off-road tyres but I picked up a thorn at CYB quite easily. They're not the best protected. I think I'd prefer the inserts, but let us know how you get on with the Slime's.
