Introduction and DH Info please??!

Hello everyone.

My name is Cat. I was brought up on Anglesey, but I now live in York. I have mountain biked all my life randomly, however this summer I ended up in France (Les Gets) and discovered that actually I absolutely LOVE biking (especially of the Down Hill variety!)

Since then I have bought a 2002 Orange Patriot and visited Hamsterly's DH course a few times.

The problem is I have no one to bike with. I am a member of York Canoe Club and all those who I know to bike with don't really enjoy going fast and down hilling!

I was wondering if someone could tell me if there is any Down Hill biking in North Wales and if they fancy showing me the ropes?! I am in N Wales until around the 29th.

I regularly travel to N Wales to see my parents / kayak / bike, so am often around to learn the new trails be it XC or DH!

Hi Cat,
Welcome to the forum!
There are plenty DH courses around North Wales but they're not all that well advertised
Downhilling isn't my speciality but I'm quite sure the other forum members will be able to help out with directions / ride arranging etc. Also check out the "Plan your Rides" section as there's usually something interesting up there. We are a friendly bunch and everyone is always welcome on the rides.

DH is certanly not my speciality, but am desprate to get better and learn!

Though any types of riding is good.

Will have a lok at some of the trails mentioned on the forum.

hey cat, theres some nice bits of downhilling around the area, next time you see an 'off the piste' ride in the 'plan your rides' section get on it

Welcome to the forum Cat. There is a good DH track Moel Y Ci, which is near Tregarth which is near Bangor. Its a great fun DH track with a bit of everything, well worth a look

Next time you come up, get in contact with one of us bangor uni students, theres quite a few DH tracks, to suit any ability
