Sunday 13th June 2010 £27 in advance or £31 on the weekend of the event. The Marin Roughride is a moorland route with less road than any other event in England and Wales. Good relations with local landowners allow the organisers to use miles of tracks not normally open to riders. This is a wilderness long distance ride for around 1,000 riders, on well flagged ancient routes in the Welsh borders. Everyone is out to enjoy themselves, singly and as a group. The achievement is to finish. The marshalls are there to help you do just that. The tiny market town of Kington (population 3,000) has the CAMRA county pub of the year, The Tavern, plus 7 more and hosts its town festival on the same weekend. The scenic campsite sits on the edge of Hergest Ridge and overlooks the town and surrounding hills. The entry fee is the same as last year, including camping, event tee shirt and post ride meal, courtesy of Wilf’s new owners! www.roughride.co.uk/index.htm

Nice one Rob, I like the sound of this. Nice to have such a seemingly well arranged event which is not competitive too. Sounds like good craic, think I might be up for this

Really nice area that, it does sound like a more relaxed event. June is suitably far off not to worry about for the moment!! Tempted.

Was talking to some seasoned racers today and they told me this was the toughest event they have done. The guy that said it came second in one of the 75km meridas last year

45k seems do-able even for me. I'll just be happy to finish the same day as i start and check out all those apres-ride hostelries Is there room in the bus for a couple of fat b*stards?

Definitely mate, I imagine you've spent many an hour in various happy buses. ;D Yeah get your entries in and I'll do you a deal, you don't have to do the full distance and keep up with me if I don't have to try and sink the ale at Dyl/Tony pace. That'd leave one remaining place in the bus, wonder if Oggy will MTFU and get his name down? ;D
