What a top weekend and a mega tuff but great RACE ;D
Myself and Craig took a drive up yesterday where we met most of the crew up at a great hostel about 20Min's from whinlatter. A seriously good find at £20 a night. Had a brilliant evening so cheers for that guys and girls, it was also great to have the old (ish) folks to look after us by doing the domestics (redkite and Tarbo can defo come again ;D)
We all know that craig likes to sing crap songs but after sleeping in the same room as him myself and Rob can now confirm he also does it in his sleep
As for the event, it was the toughest 50km event Ive done to date, serious climbs and quality technical slippery down hill sections, ill definatly be back next year. A big well done to all of team MBNW for completing it everyone put in a Stirling effort and should be extremely proud for finishing such a arduous coarse. I think if you so called 'slow' lot can do that then theres not a lot that you couldn't do, good show, hopefully see you at some more events in the future.
Very well done to Dan for putting in a stonking time of 2.45 and coming in 17th position overall, think what you could do if you didnt go playing on bummer bikes the day before you tit . Also a big clap for little Matthew, that wasn't a race for Kids but Sars 9yr old Son showed the adults how it was meant to be done. A great result for Oldbird coming second in female vets, not bad for her first MTB race hey. I myself managed a 3.27 coming in 108th position over all, there were some fast lads there today so I'm more that pleased with that
The MBNW kit looked the mutts nuts and it felt great to be riding as part of a team and was excellent for spoting fellow MBNW'ers.
Thanks everyone for a top weekend, carnt wait for next year, roll on the Dyfi
