Dave, that link didn't work for me somehow and when I searched for the planning number it didn't find anything! I've found the application from December though which has been approved - preview.tinyurl.com/2duge4yThere are 5 trails shown on the maps and the application form says there will be 5, but for some reason the Gwynedd website says there are only for 4 of them (and a 4x area) .....and the website says the application was made in December but the some of the signatures on the form are from January 2010 Hopefully the tracks will miss any of the archaeology around there. More bike stuff is good but it shouldn't obliterate something else.

Just tried the link Thistle. I just clicked on the blue bit rather than pasting the whole address into a browser. This took me to the Gwynedd Council site and I then went on the media items tab for maps etc.
I saw 5 tracks + a four cross track.

They will be built in the spring of next year - (unless Cameron decides he wants his money back later this month!!) Seriously though not sure how it's funded, and if it was European Grant money how safe that is from the ConDems.
Hope it all goes ahead though, it'll be good for Blaenau and handy for me.

As I understood this scheme the funding was allocated centrally from Europe, objective one or something?? so should be safe from the cuts.

Further to my last post my mate had a meeting with Phil Saxena who is designing the new downhill course, he is well impressed by the site and reckons it will be a world class course possibly Olympic standard should be ready by Oct 2011.
