My hamstring tear doesn't seem to be too bad. I am not feeling any discomfort walking and had a gentle pedal down to the pub and back 2 miles on Sunday with no discomfort.
It has only been a week but I am considering a gentle road ride to check it out.
Has anyone got any advice on how to manage recovery? I guess I am being impatient but it is the first injury I have had and its surprised me how mentally I am frustrated by not being able to get out.

with most injury's the best thing to do is rest. but if you can manage a very gental ride i'd go for it, cycling has the least impact of any sports so as long as its not hurting you i'd try and have a very light pedal

Buy new bits for your bike ;D ; I've broken my collarbone and have just purchased a new set of forks and I feel 100 times better ;D ;D A new set of wheels might just eleviate the pain altogether Who needs co-codamol when you've got chain reaction ;D

Although i've not experienced this myself I would advise caution. I'd stick to exercises that didnt rely on the hamstring until you're better in case you end up making it worse!

Well considering my lay-up I've not bought a thing! Reformed character I just want some painful hills now and lots of them. Have resolved when back on the bike I am going to spend my time on the Clwyds. Hate them now, but will conquer them.
