I'm currently riding 160mm Rotors front & rear. I find that when I'm on a fast downhill section I don't have enough controlled braking power.
I'm thinking of going for 203 front and 180 rear.
Has anyone changed rotor sizes?
Were you happy with the result?

I changed my 160mm front to a 185mm and it made quite a difference. didn't bother changing the rear as i manage to lock it up easily enough as it is (Apart from at Llandegla the other day ) Your running Hope's aren't you? You might find them powerful enough with just a 180mm on the front

Yep, 203mm front & rear.
The front makes a huge difference, especially as i am 'big boned'. The back is purely for bling factor ;D

Youll find a massive difference if you change the fromt to a 203 rotor, I wouldnt bother going up on the rear rotor though spend your cash on where it matters, up front!

Changed to hope 203mm and 180mm rear for the bling factor. Floating rotas make one hell of a difference

What's the difference between floating rotors and...rotors?

As well as offering a significant weight saving, they also allow the rotor to expand or contract with changes in temperature and they look bling

I've gone and done it 203mm Rotors and new set of pads will be with me this week. Hopefully I'll have time to fit them before "World's End" (Not literally of course, I mean the forum ride ;D). So don't be surprised if when reaching for the brakes in a moment of blind panic, on some knarly single track I end catapulting myself over the front of the bike next week . If you do witness such a thing, perhaps best if you don't ask me how I'm find the new rotors ;D ;D ;D Thank's for all your guidance

Fitted the new 203mm Rotor the night before the Forum ride (19/09/08). So far I'm well chuffed It really has made a huge improvement to the amount of progressive braking power to the front wheel. Just the type of upgrade I like CHEAP / EASY TO FIT / IMPROVES THE RIDE Before you say it - Yes I know it did'nt stop me using my head as a brake. There, beat you to it ;D ;D ;D ;D
