It no longer stays up in the locked position, and I was wondering if anyone knew of another locking mechanism I can put on instead? Preferably one that actually clicks and locks into place? Second question, the cable between the lock and the suspension needs cleaning, and the silver pivot on the suspension needs lubricating. Can anyone recommend the best method/product to clean the sheath and lubricate the pivot? Sorry I don't know about the lockout stuff, but the pivot - is that the pivot for the lockout mechanism on the shock or do you mean the pivots between the shock and the frame? (the pivots for the shock don't normally need lubricating). Cleaning cables can be done by taking the inner wire out and blasting the outer with GT85 and leaving to dry or blasting air down them (SiMoult's trick). The GT85 works but it's not great and it doesn't get all the dirt out. Someone else might have a better idea though! The inner wire you can spray some WD40/GT85 and wipe it clean but if it's getting old and a bit mangled it might be easier to just put a new cable into the cleaned outer tube.

Thanks for the advice so far, think I'll take all the cables to pieces on Sunday and give them all a damn good clean!
What I've called the pivot is the silver wheel at the base of the Sus in the second picture link...
