... but instead an English guy whose missus is moving up to Bangor in September from Cardiff. I spend most of my riding time in South Wales at the mo' around the Black Mountains, Brecon, Powys and the trail centres that need little introduction. I'm VERY much looking forward to being up in North Wales, particularly having spent time in Machynlleth and Dolgellau, and having visited CyB and Nant-yr-Arian. I'm also up in Betws-y-Coed for the second week of August. Looking forward to spending some time on here, and hopefully meeting some of you in IRL ;D

Welcome to the forum. There's loads of people on here with good knowledge of some great out in the wilds routes, just keep an eye on the 'plan your rides' section. Does your missus ride? 'cos there's a few girls who go out regularly, she's welcome to join us

Welcome to te Forum. You won't be disappointed with what North Wales has to offer If you enjoy the trail centres, wait until you experience the XC stuff on offer. As others have said, check out the 'Plan your rides' section for what's going on and when. Does your missus ride? 'cos there's a few girls who go out regularly, she's welcome to join us Behave yourself woman !! He probably goes out on his bike to get away from her ;D

I'll second that, did a small bit of riding before I also moved up from Cardiff, but nothing matches N.Wales! The people are a bit odd like, but they're harmless and you get used to them! ;D

Thanks for the welcome and I'll be sure to have a look at 'plan your rides'. Yup, the missus also very much enjoys getting out and about although is not so keen on the rough stuff (this all reads much more chauvinistic than it should!). I'm sure a "skills" session would do her the world of good and really boost her confidence, but she is reticent to say the least.
