Now i've got your attention, has anyone got any ideas about how to tackle a seat-tube thats too tight to allow the seatpost to move up and down freely?

You've got the right size post? ;D i found out the other day you can get 31.9 and 31.6 posts. You could try some of that LUBE that comes with carbon posts, but it dries out after a while so you'd have to keep putting it on. You could cut the post to the bare minimum so you've got less friction on the SHAFT, but you might still have a problem with GIRTH and the extra inch might come in handy one day. Is it still STIFF without the clamp on the tube?
