Hi, I just joined the forum, Im Rowan - recently moved to near Wrexham. Been riding Llandegla a few times a week since moving, previously the Longmynd and Eastridge as lived in Shrewsbury. Ride a giant reign. Looking for any local fellow bikers to try the local trails

Welcome Rowan, sure we'll meet up soon. You're in the right place for some epic rides, post up when you plan to ride and see who turns up. There are plenty of us like me who normally only ride in the week, and loads of rides at the weekends so have fun

Hi Rowan, As Iggy has said, keep your eye on the 'Plan your rides' section as that's where all the rides taking place get posted. You'll find there's a good group on here from the Wrexham area who are really welcoming and get out a lot. They've been a bit quiet lately, but that's probably due to the holiday season etc. Alternatively, if you see a ride you fancy, put your name down and just turn up. Everyone's friendly and all you need is a bike and a sense of humour. See you out soon

Get yourself out with us on a ride, like anywhere if you only ride the same trail all the time you'll get bored and lose interest, Variety is the spice of life dude!

Got to agree with Gus there Although Llandegla is on your doorstep, convinient and has some really good sections to hone the skills, I don't think I could ride there every week. There is so much natural stuff to ride up here, all you need is someone to show you where it is. Keep your eyes open for one of Gus's rides, lots of hills, lots of single track and lots of natural stuff. However, for some real 'out in the middle of nowhere' rides, look for something Summittopler posts up. You certainly won't regret it Better still, get yourself on Saturday's Forum Ride, with the added benefit of meeting some really nice people..... unless we turn up ;D In fact, just join any ride. You won't be disappointed

You know there's some nice pootling around to be had in that big old quarry in Minera.Sorry, did I post that on a public forum ;D Have you tried going down the whole of Offa's Dyke rather than turning left onto the trail at Llandegla? If you keep going down you'll come out at the start of JJs loop where you can follow the trail back to the top to go home. You can keep going down even more to The Plough at Llandegla which is a good blast, but unless you fancy some tarmac you'll have to turn around and go back up to JJs There's also some good 'cheeky' routes up there, but it's a bit wet and boggy to be riding them at the moment, stuff for the summer nights
